Which Brand is Best For You?
As the poolowner, the choice of brand for your cleaner is going to come down to a few key factors. These factors and others will ultimately drive the buying decision.
- Affordability
- Best reviewed
- Cordless vs Corded
- Ease of use
Cost rules all. Customers want the best value at the lowest cost, these things never change. A robotic pool cleaner is a legitimate investment which means you’re going to end up paying a good chunk of money. What a robotic cleaner will save you in time and money down the road is what makes them so worth it. Maytronics have a wider selection than Polaris and Hayward, so you will have more options on the cheaper side with Maytronics.
When customers have come into our store inquiring about robotic cleaners, one of the most frequently asked questions is “which type is better? Battery powered cleaners or electric cleaners?” In laymans terms: cordless vs corded. The answer would be an enthusiastic thumbs up for cords. This may come as a surprise to you. Who likes cords? Can’t you trip on them? Good questions, but the simple fact is corded robotic pool cleaners have been tested and proven to be much more efficient and reliable than cordless cleaners. Almost every cleaner we talked about in this article is a corded cleaner. They’re simply the best.
If you’re looking for the most hands off option available we would recommend the Polaris Alpha cleaners. Upon purchase of one of these cleaners, you will download the Aqualink app and pair it to your cleaner. Through this app you will be able to start, control, and monitor your cleaner. If you have a lot of debris and leaf buildup in your pool, you can set it up on the daily maximum cleaning mode. If you have a covered pool away from trees, perhaps you only need a bi-weekly clean. The Polaris Alpha cleaners have multiple cleaning options and make things simple for you the poolowner.
Now that you have a better idea of what the top three robotic pool cleaner brands have to offer, the choice is yours. With the knowledge provided to you about Maytronics, Polaris, and Hayward cleaners, you’ll know exactly what to look for when researching. One last thing you should be aware of is: robotic pool cleaners get more expensive every year, and with these three top brands in mind, you don’t want them to exceed your budget. As consumers and sellers, we all want more free-time. If you’re a stressed new pool owner just now realizing the hardship that can come with maintaining a pool, a robotic pool cleaner will be the ultimate time-saver for you. I would personally use all that free time to swim, but hey I can’t force you to do that. Happy hunting!
