Northwest Indiana Pool Installers: B&F Pools Vs. Royal Pools And More

We’re back with our comparison series versus other pool installers in Northwest Indiana and today we’re taking a closer look at B&F Pools!

As we’ve pointed out from the beginning of this series of articles, our goal is to educate you not only about ourselves, but our competition as well. And we know what you’re thinking: “Why would you want to tell us about your competitors?” Well, we pride ourselves on being transparent with our clients and part of that mantra includes acknowledging that we are not the only pool builder in the area.

You have several different options, all of whom do great work!

So it’s important for us that you find a pool builder who will provide you with the best product for you and your family as well as the experience that you need. And maybe that’s not us, but that’s okay! It matters just as much to us that you choose the best fit as it does to you.

This is the exact reason we’ve put together this series of articles and we truly hope that it guides you in the direction you need to go! So, enough rambling. Let’s get to the comparison!

Pool Industry Background

B&F Pools

B&F Pools was founded in 1975 by Jim and Hope Terpstra. Shortly after B and F Pools opened two retail stores—one in DeMotte, IN and one in Highland, IN. Both stores remain open for business today.

They provide their services for clients in about a 40-mile radius from their retail location in DeMotte, IN.

Royal Pools and More

We’ve spent over 30 years in business and 18 of those have been spent in the swimming pool industry.

Our retail store is located in Dyer, Indiana right off of US Route 30 at 1512 Joliet Street.

We are predominately a fiberglass pool installer, but we also install vinyl liner pools. We do not install concrete pools, but we do keep ourselves educated on them to answer any questions you may have.

On average we build and install between 20-30 vinyl liner and fiberglass pools per year in Northwest Indiana and the Chicagoland area.

Royal Pools and More

At Royal Pools and More, we are authorized to sell fiberglass pools from two of the leading manufacturers in the industry: River Fiberglass Pools and Thursday Pools.

Thursday Pools

Thursday Pools is based out of Fortville, IN and pride themselves on being the best fiberglass pool manufacturer in the industry. With over 35 years of experience, they have brought and continue to bring some of the newest innovations to fiberglass pools that take them to the next level.

Their pools carry a limited lifetime warranty and a full 15 years of coverage on the surface of the pool against osmotic blistering.

River Fiberglass Pools

Based out of Warsaw, VA, River Pools has almost 20 years of experience in the pool industry under their belt. They began solely as a pool installer, but later branched out into the manufacturing field, becoming one of the most prominent manufacturers in the industry today. With backgrounds in both aspects of the industry, they pride themselves on sharing their knowledge and being the leading educator on all things inground swimming pools.

Their pools carry a limited lifetime warranty and a full 15 years of coverage on the surface of the pool against osmotic blistering.

Vinyl Liner Pools

Our vinyl liner pools come in a variety of shapes, but we have found that customized vinyl liner pools are more popular as we can cater to most design requests from our clients! The steel that we use for the pool walls is manufactured from Cardinal Pool Systems in Pennsylvania. The warranty on their steel warrants that the wall panels and braces to be free of defects in material and workmanship that would render the pool non-functional. This is promised to both the original residential purchaser as well as a properly registered second owner for the duration of their ownership.

Our vinyl liners are made by Tara Liners, who have been manufacturing liners since 1984. They focus on investing in the finest virgin vinyl in America as it is proven to fit better and have a linger lifespan.

Their warranty offers a 20-year pro-rated liner with a 5-year full replacement on manufacturer’s defect.

B&F Pools

B&F Pools is strictly a vinyl liner pool builder whereas most other pool builders in the area offer some combination of fiberglass, vinyl liner, and concrete pools. So, with only focusing on one type of pool, you should be able to expect that they know the ins and outs of vinyl liner pools.

The Terpstra family has carried on the business since 1975. That’s 45 years of experience in the pool industry! So, that makes them one of the longest-running pool builders in Northwest Indiana!

And although they service a smaller area within a 40-mile radius of their retail location in DeMotte, IN, this has allowed them to become well-known in the area with close relationships with their client base.

Royal Pools and More

At Royal Pools and More we have never focused too much on quantity of pools but always try to be a teacher of all things pools which naturally forces us to focus on quality.  We have the highest quality materials and installation techniques the industry has to offer.

The first thing for us that hopefully brings you quality is that we try to be as transparent and educational as possible (being the teacher). We know that inground swimming pools are huge investments and are something special that few are fortunate enough to include in their own backyards. In order to give you as much quality as possible, we have to be 100% transparent about who we are, what we do, and educate you on all things pools for you to make the best decision for you and your family!

This is why we make sure to produce educational content regularly in the form of articles and videos. We want you to be as knowledgeable and informed as possible about inground swimming pools! Heck, in this case, even our competition!

The second thing we pride ourselves on is our high-quality products and are very strict pool installation techniques! We make sure we install only the industry’s best products, preferably all American-Made when possible, that also carry the pool industry’s best warranties!

Who Should You Choose?

When it comes down to it, the decision of which installer to choose lies in your hands. Whether it’s us, B&F Pools, or another inground swimming pool builder in the area, the choice is all yours. And you need to choose the builder who you feel the most comfortable with and who will provide you with everything that you need!

This is such a huge investment that will bring joy to you and your family for many years to come, so you deserve the best experience, product, and service for you.

We hope that we’ve educated you more on ourselves, B&F Pools, and other pool builders in Northwest Indiana. And all we ask is that you make the best decision for your family to ensure many years of enjoyment from your new inground swimming pool!
