5 Awesome Rectangular Fiberglass Pool Designs in 2024
As we come to the end of the 2024 swim season in the midwest, we want to reflect on some of the awesome fiberglass pool designs we’ve seen this year. If you’re someone who gets to swimming year-round, I envy you. For those of us who have to wait 5-6 months to swim in our pools again, we are chomping at the coping bits to get our last swims in this year. Regardless of your region, people are almost always in the market for inground pools. Northwest Indiana and Chicagoland are no different, and Royal Pools and G2 Outdoor Designs have been servicing this region for over 24 years. We were ahead of the curve with fiberglass pool installation in the early 2000s, and have seen the product make leaps and bounds in innovation over the past several years.
Last year we published an article called The Top 5 Fiberglass Pool Manufacturers of 2023. The five companies listed therein each have their own unique lines of rectangular and curvy fiberglass pools. Today we’re going to look at five of our favorite rectangular fiberglass pool designs from a few of those manufacturers.
1. Aspen (from Thursday Pools)
The Aspen is one of Thursday Pools’ most popular and iconic pools. A classic-looking pool, the Aspen features a large wading area perfect for little ones learning to swim or those who want to catch a tan. This pool also comes with a wrap-around ledge around the deep end as well as corner entry benches. Whether it’s laps, tanning, or casual swimming, the Aspen can serve many functions.
The Aspen comes in five sizes, which is a huge step up in terms of optionality when compared to the other pools we talk about later. The size optionality makes the Aspen a perfect pool for families of all sizes. The sizes are:
- 12’ x 25’
- Depth: 3’4” – 5’1”
- Holds 7,425 gallons
- 14’ x 30’
- Depth: 3’4” – 5’6”
- Holds 7,610 gallons
- 14’ x 35’
- Depth: 3’4” – 5’6”
- Holds 8,423 gallons
- 16’ x 35’
- Depth: 3’4” – 5’6”
- Holds 10,140 gallons
- 16’ x 40’
- Depth: 3’4” – 5’10”
- Holds 13,090 gallons
2. Astoria (from Latham Pools)
Imagine for a moment being able to jump out of your pool directly into a hot tub. The Astoria from Latham Pools offers a fiberglass pool with a built-in spa. That’s right, it’s all a part of one fiberglass shell.
In addition to the spa, the Astoria also has a wide open swim space, wrap-around ledges, corner entry benches, as well as a tanning ledge adjacent to the spa. As you can see from the picture you can still put an automatic pool cover over this pool even with the spa. A pool and a spa all in one, what’s better than that?
The Astoria is available in one size:
- 15′ 10″ x 40′
- Depth: 3′ 6″ to 7′; Spa 3′ *
- Holds 15,600 gallons
3. Grace Beach Entry (from Thursday Pools)
Another entry from our friends over at Thursday Pools, their patented Grace Beach Entry pool offers the closest there is to a true fiberglass beach entry pool. The basic idea behind a beach entry pool is to create a pool that looks as though it starts and declines directly from the ground, like a beach. It’s easy to do them with concrete pools, but fiberglass is a different story. Most beach entry fiberglass pools you see offered will include a step-up or step-down at the edge of the pool. The Grace Beach Entry from Thursday is a true beach entry fiberglass pool.
We had to put the Grace Beach Entry on this list for that reason and the aesthetic beauty. There really is nothing like a beach entry inground pool, well except for maybe a beach. But I digress. The beach entry design creates a space that can be used for tanning, lounging, or a perfect spot for little ones to hang out.
The Grace Beach Entry comes in three sizes:
- 14’ x 36’
- Depth: 0 – 5’6”
- Holds 8400 gallons
- 16’ x 36’
- Depth: 0 – 5’6”
- Holds 10000 gallons
- 16’ x 40’
- Depth: 0 – 5’10”
- Holds 13500 gallons
4. Luxor Deep (from San Juan Pools)
There’s a general rule in the fiberglass pool world that fiberglass pools can’t or at least shouldn’t be longer than 40 feet. On account of the fact that they’re manufactured offsite and transported to backyards for installation. Indeed, generally, most fiberglass pools aren’t longer than 41 feet at the most, which is why we have to shout out the Luxor Deep from San Juan Fiberglass Pools.
Coming in at a staggering 15’11” wide and 44’7” long, the Luxor Deep is a truly massive fiberglass pool designed for wide-open backyards. One complaint about fiberglass pools has always been that they are too small to do laps in, as is sometimes the case. With the Luxor Deep, you can do as many laps as you want and also host massive pool parties, which is a pretty cool perk.
The Luxor Deep is only available in one size:
- 15’11” x 44’7”
- Depth: 3’7” – 7’9”
- Holds 22000 gallons
5. Providence (from Latham Pools)
Here we have a very unique fiberglass pool from Latham that may seem like a surprising entry on this list, but it was so unique we had to include it. The Providence features a tanning ledge, common on many fiberglass pools, but unlike the Aspen and Astoria, whose tanning ledges run along the width of the pool, the Providence’s tanning ledge runs along the length of the pool.
The long tanning ledge can also be utilized as seating. With an entire side of the pool being one large point of entry, it’s a very safe option as well. Parents looking to tan can watch closely as their little ones enjoy the water right in front of them. This pool will not be perfect for everybody, as a lot of swim space is lost due to the tanning ledge, but it is nonetheless highly unique.
The Providence is available in one size:
- 14′ x 30′
- Depth: 3’6″ to 6’1″
- Holds 7,900 gallons
These are just five out of the hundreds of designs sold not just by our favorite fiberglass manufacturers, but by manufacturers all over the world. As we mentioned earlier, fiberglass pool manufacturing has changed a lot in the past 25 years. Nowadays, these pools can be installed in your backyard in just a few weeks! So, what are you waiting for? Check out the manufacturer’s websites for more details on each individual pool, and feel free to check out our learning center for more information about fiberglass pools. Happy hunting!
